==Plot==
Mordecai and Rigby order fake band T-shirts with "Mordecai and the Rigbys" printed on them. When Margaret sees Rigby wearing his shirt, she asks if he and Mordecai will perform in the coffee shop's open mic night. Hoping to impress Margaret, Mordecai talks Rigby into performing and unsuccessfully try to become expert rock musicians using Pops's old instructional records. When Rigby tries playing all of records simultaneously, his and Mordecai's future selves appear. As they are successful rock stars ten years into the future, they help Mordecai and Rigby prepare for open mic night.
Mordecai and Rigby perform quite well at the coffee shop, much to everyone's surprise including their own. When Mordecai drops his guitar pick during the song, he notices that his and Rigby's future selves had used a previous recording to compensate for their lack of talent. Upset at this discovery, Mordecai halts the performance and confesses that he and Rigby really have no musical skills hence why they used an audio recording. Mordecai shreds his shirt in defiance of cheating to become famous causing the future rock stars to go back to their own time in a huge on-stage explosion which seems to satisfy the audience in lieu of the fake musical performance.
Margaret and Mordecai meet after the show, but to Mordecai's chagrin, she happily introduces him to her new boyfriend, a folk guitarist who performed before Mordecai and Rigby.
